As a former journalist and ministerial adviser, Ali is good in a crisis and able to grasp issues quickly to effectively communicate them and get results. She is a communication professional with strong writing and editing skills, expertise in providing policy, media and advocacy advice, and an ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Prior to joining SenateSHJ, Ali was contracted to the Department of Education and Training, where she was lead strategic communicator for the Early Childhood Reform Plan and child safety and parent information campaigns. She has run her own small business, delivered bespoke media training for organisations and their spokespeople, and consulted across government, industry and not-for-profit sectors. Ali enjoys volunteering with food rescue organisation FareShare, sometimes as a communicator, but more often in their kitchen garden.
“Curiosity drives me — I love uncovering the ‘why’ in the world around me. It fills my days with interesting, talented people and provides constant inspiration.”
